Gadgets of the Rich and Famous

A recent article in Wired Magazine details an emerging product placement trend. Step 1: Cater your mobile gadgets to celebrities and even give them away. Step 2: Watch the $$$ roll in when your product shows up with the celeb on the red carpet or in the latest tabloid photos. Alternately, you could also take the Motorola approach:
Motorola maintains a 2,000-square-foot, invitation-only office on West Hollywood's Sunset Boulevard. "Celebs find it appealing because each visit is private," says David Pinsky, director of entertainment marketing. "We give them true one-on-one time where they are the focus, and their need for mobile communication is addressed with no pressure." With five to ten A-listers dropping by in a typical week, Motorola handlers are working hard. [source: wired magazine]
