ColorBlender

One of my new favorite online tools is called ColorBlender. For non designers like me it is an enormously simple way of choosing a color palette that is pleasing to the eye. My primary problem when choosing colors is choosing more that two that look good together. ColorBlender chooses 6 colors that look equally good with each other.

You choose your colors by using an RGB slider to perfect your hue. You can then export the palette as an EPS or as a Photoshop color table file. If you really like your blend you can save custom blendsso you can retrieve them lateer. This is most likely done through the use of browser cookies, so if probably won't work if you have cookies disabled.

My favorite feature of ColorBlender is "Load a random blend". Check it out for yourself and let me know, as a designer, what you think. Why are these palettes so pleasing and why do they work together so well? Is there some color principle behind it all?
