Everybody Fails
You just have to accept it and move on. I'm not one for failing but I spent a good portion of today doing it. Failure can really get to you spawning anger and fear, anxiety and doubt. So I took some time to myself and realized it happens to everyone, and some failures are more profound or noticable than others. It is likely no one will notice my failure. Tonight I will pick up the pieces and try a new tack, or more appropriately an old hack.
You see sometimes people fail for lack or trying, sometimes the failure is largely out of your control and sometimes failure comes down to just plain running out of time. So the next time you fail at something, don't let the anger or fear take over you, just remember you're not alone.

Indeed Joey, everyone does fail. I have been struggling with this myself lately. I look back over the last couple years at Catalyst alone and there is a trail of projects that have never gone through. Sometimes this really gets to me and makes me wonder if I'm cut out for all this but I heard a great presentation last weekend at the conference that opened my eyes to something.
The guy said that the most genius of people fail more often than your average Joe, pardon the name expression, because they are pushing the envelope. An example is Michael Jordan; if you look at his stats he has one of the highest numbers for shots missed. (seeming failure) He also holds the record for shots made in a game and Championships, MVP's, $$$ made, etc. because he was giving it his all. He was willing to fail and accept it if it meant pushing the boundries of what man had done before in order to be great.
People of genius go beyond where most people dare to dwell and many times fail because of it. But, it is only in this outer realm of curiosity and creativity that you get into a position where that great new find can be discovered. (Safety = Sucks) Much failure usually preceeds Brilliance! So you see man, you are brilliant. You are courageous enough to fail because you have the vision to be great. Keep doing it. Your greatness far outweighs your failures:)
